Description of electoral system
- The President is elected by popular vote to serve a 5-year term.
- In the Parliament, 112 members are elected through a party-list proportional representation system and 12 seats are filled by paramount chiefs elected in separate elections. All members serve 5-year terms.The Fifty Fifty Group Sierra Leone is a non-partisan campaign for more women in politics and public life through training and advocacy.
