The 2007 NDI Democracy Luncheon

On October 24, 2007, NDI Chairman Madeleine K. Albright joined U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and hundreds of guests to celebrate women blazing new trails in their countries despite tremendous odds.

NDI presented the W. Averell Harriman Democracy Award to Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for her sustained commitment to democracy and the Madeleine K. Albright Grant to the courageous women of the 50/50 Group of Sierra Leone.
